April 1, 2010 HIGH RETURN AND LOW-RISK FROM INNOVATIVE GREEN INVESTMENT

Solar Power Systems provide alternative investment for investors, savers and home-owners

1st April 2010, LondonGoldfield Partners Limited announces a unique new green investment package to the UK savings and investment market.  The SPS package comprises the purchase of an integrated Solar Power System together with the rights to income from the energy it can generate, which is guaranteed under the UK Government’s Feed In Tariff Scheme (FITS).  The Goldfield Partners SPS package is based on a high-yield 3.3kwH solar power system.  It offers an average of 7% return p.a. on an initial investment of £16000 (plus VAT at 5%).  In the UK climate this system can produce enough power to generate a potential £1200 per annum in FIT payments and potential income of £42000 over its 25-year term.

1st April marks the first opportunity for individuals and businesses to take advantage of this new route to boosting income by becoming one of the country’s power micro-generators.  Under FITS (also known as the Clean Energy Cash Back Scheme) those who install qualifying solar or wind-powered “micro-generation” systems can generate income from payments that are guaranteed by Government. The payment tariff was published by the Department of Energy and Climate Change on 1st February 2010.  The scheme specifically allows for the ownership of a generation system and its income rights to be separate from the ownership of the property on which it sits.  Products like the SPS makes the scheme accessible to those who simply want a green investment with a great return.

The SPS package presents a very unusual investment or savings proposition that is high return, generates long-term income, is index-linked AND underpinned by a Government mandate. It is a flexible offer which will appeal to many audiences:

  • It can be purchased singly by retail investors or in multiples by larger investors or enterprises looking for a solid ethical investment or alternative to the volatile stock markets.
  • For many homeowners FITS income will be tax-free and home-owner investors will also be able to use the power generated in the household, which does not erode the FITS payments at all, resulting in lower energy bills.
  • For savers looking for better returns than banks can currently offer and at low risk, the SPS presents a fresh opportunity and a new way to invest their savings with a guaranteed and index-linked return – plus a chance to invest in something which will benefit the environment.

Goldfield Partners is able to do this because its partners have been agreeing the installation of hundreds of systems across England to which the income rights are being retained. The installation rollout has begun following a huge interest in the scheme and hundreds of property surveys to determine the best possible locations.

The SPS systems are fully guaranteed for 25 years and installed by engineers qualified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme installers, a prerequisite for solutions to qualify for the payments.
