Taco Bell facing PR worries

American fast food chain Taco Bell is facing a potential PR disaster at the moment, after it has been reported that the meat served at Taco Bell is only 36 percent beef. According to reports, there has been a lawsuit launched against them which has requested that Taco Bell either renames their products or add more beef to them. If the fast food firm uses a PR agency, then it will certainly be busy at the moment, deciding on the best way to respond to the accusations.

City of London University spies an opportunity

Good public relations is about spotting an opportunity. One eye has to be on the news at all times, and a PR agency will often have a sixth sense when it comes to opportunities. The slightest hint of a story that could be related to a client and alarm bells start ringing immediately. A PR consultancy will be quick off the mark when it comes to spotting a PR opportunity.

PR agency to help with Madagascan tourism

It’s not just products and people who need PR representation, in fact, entire countries can benefit from the expertise of a PR agency. Madagascar Tourism have decided to appoint a PR agency with the hope that they can promote the island as the perfect holiday destination. As people continue to struggle to pay their weekly bills, let alone for holidays, it is the tourism industry that has really been affected by the tightened purse strings.

In-house departments working alongside a PR agency

A lot of companies choose to have in-house public relations teams to deal with their PR and marketing.

Handling a crisis with the help of a PR agency

One thing that a PR agency can really help with is crisis management. It doesn’t matter how professional you are, your company could still suffer a crisis and it is at times like this that you need the help of professionals who can minimise the impact of a crisis on your business. During a crisis, if you say or do one misjudged thing, you could end up making the situation a lot worse so it’s important that you have a PR agency on hand to be able to handle such situations.

Kerry Katona’s transformation

Much like businesses that have to protect their brand of products or services; PR agencies have to learn how to protect and promote their celebrity clients. And a great example of how powerful a bit of clever PR can be on a person’s reputation and image comes in the form of Kerry Katona. Her ups and downs have been well documented but over the last few months, Kerry has undergone a complete image overhaul and there have been a few key decisions made by her public relations consultants in order to give the public the idea that she has changed.

The truth behind Cameron’s moves

Sometimes, PR experts can be accused of being a little cynical. But it’s not cynicism, just an inside knowledge which reveals the true intentions behind certain moves made by companies as well as people in the public eye. Take for example, the recent move by the Prime Minister to invite the chief executives of 19 different companies to come to visit him in Downing Street, to discuss jobs. Most PR professionals will agree that this is primarily a PR exercise.

Kraft benefit from PR after hiring homeless man

Some PR opportunities that come along become much more effective and powerful than if you were to work hard trying to create a successful PR stunt or situation. And that is what a PR agency is there to recognise. They will know which opportunities to pounce on in order to get the most effective results. Kraft Foods have just benefitted from a huge PR opportunity in the form of Ted Williams; a homeless radio announcer. A clip of Ted Williams, a homeless man with an amazing radio voice was the first YouTube clip of 2011 to really cause a stir.

Plain English and the public relations practitioner

We have a horrible suspicion that most journalists believe that public relations consultants’ writing leaves a lot to be desired.   These opinions are most likely founded on those PR people who don’t take the time to concentrate on and master the craft of good writing but put their efforts instead into turning around copy so fast it makes your head spin.
