Eating Humble Burger – How McDonalds’ Twitter PR Campaign Backfired

I was doing an interview today with the lovely Patricia Davidson, online shopping guru and editor of the Site Guide and we were discussing the changing power of the consumer. During our discussion this recent tale came up, which highlights just how careful companies have to be with their Twitter PR campaigns. Since a PR agency often gets involved in creating Twitter and social media PR campaign ideas I have circulated this to all my own team – and all wise social media communicators will take note.
