PR consultants learn quite early that there are some dangers in media relations, and we train our people carefully to avoid them. However, some of the most active PR people are not those in agencies but entrepreneurs or workers in smaller businesses. Because they think it looks simple enough they decide on DIY PR and can fall into some bad habits and traps. These are my own versions of The Seven Deadly Sins of Media Relations, and are things to avoid. Take on board these basic lessons and you will be ahead of the game versus some of your competitors!
