Sue’s career as a business communicator has spanned 20 years and included both consultancy and in-house roles. A long career in IT and telecoms PR included leadership roles at Waggener Edstrom and Edelman Worldwide as well as a long stint as Marketing Director (EMEA) for Nortel, taking it through the telecoms boom and bust. At Nortel she was responsible for all European PR, sales communications, government and community relations, publishing and internal communications.
Agency client experience has included European PR for Gartner Group and extensive work with cross-industry groups, including award-winning global launch of Bluetooth with Ericsson, Nokia, IBM, Intel and Toshiba (PR Week Award for Best Technology Campaign). She launched the Internet Advertising Bureau, UK Internet Advertising Group and DVD concept in Europe, culminating in final format standard launch in Brussels '98, and has been responsible for numerous successful communications programmes for corporations including Microsoft, IBM, EDS, Ericsson, Factiva and Texas Instruments. In later years she has additionally run a sculpture studio, run a retail outlet and art gallery, and extended her PR expertise into consumer marketing. Sue is a software fanatic and likes nothing more than learning new applications and areas of technology; thus through self-study she has also become a fair web designer and an expert in search engine optimisation and marketing.
As well as running the team and driving the international PR network, Sue is particularly responsible for communications strategy and message development for clients, and is the main business and technical writer for Potion's B2B clients with numerous articles, white papers and other written items under her belt.
